Our History

Unfolding a legendary chapter in the year 1902 with not so much of economic benefits, but with a strong determination and a truthful desire to earn a living by catering quality bakery products, Charles Perera baked his first loaf of bread. Through barriers and challenges he served to the neighbourhood until 1930s where he sold his business to his son Kodagoda Albert Perera. With his superior vision and exemplary effort, the business started selling iced cakes, birthday cakes and wedding structures. During his momentous times, Perera & Sons installed the first electric oven in Sri Lanka. Handing over the responsibilities to the third generation of the family, the responsibilities were taken upon by Sarath, Rukmini, Sunitha, Srima and Shanthani Perera in 1960s who then onwards contributed tremendously to enhance both the reach and the glory of the organzation.

Penetrating all barriers which stood upon them, P&S kept expanding itself while maintaining the impeccable essence of their products and the organization took steps to sign in the first General Manager from outside the family in the year 1993. Ever since the current Managing Director Mr. Gihan Perera took office in 1997, quite a number of monumental measures and strategies have been undertaking to claim its glorious position as the market leader in the current context, through immense dedication and utmost commitement.
